Benefits of Compression for lymph

Surgery Recovery

After surgery you will be in a compression garment.  The area covered with medical grade compression will be the area of the surgical procedure plus the regions above and below the affected area to help facilitate proper lymphatic drainage of the area.

Lymphedema Maintenance

Once your extremity has been decongested of the lymph built up, then you can wear a compression garment during the day and softer padded garments at night to keep the fluid moving so it does not build up again.  This is done after the  decongestive phase has been completed.  Usually about two weeks for an arm  and a month for a leg.
